Samsung Electronics and JHUB Africa Empower JKUAT Students Through Industry Masterclass.

Students at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) gained valuable industry exposure and practical career insights during the Samsung Electronics Masterclass held on Wednesday, 8th July 2026.
Organized by Samsung Electronics East Africa in partnership with JHUB Africa, the event brought together experienced professionals from the technology and creative industries to equip students with knowledge and skills relevant to today’s evolving workplace.
Designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice, the masterclass provided participants with firsthand perspectives on emerging technologies, digital innovation, content creation, customer service, and career development.
Through interactive discussions and real-world experiences shared by industry experts, students were encouraged to embrace innovation, think creatively, and continuously develop skills that will enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential.
The session on content creation was led by the comedian behind Wololo TV, Julius Ochieng, a member of the Team Galaxy Creator community, who spoke on “Exploring Content Creation and What It Means to Own Your Awesome”. He encouraged students to harness the power of digital platforms by creating authentic and meaningful content that reflects their individuality. He emphasized that consistency, creativity, and purpose are essential ingredients for building a successful personal brand and thriving in the digital economy.
Award-winning wildlife and humanitarian photographer Edwin Waweru highlighted the power of storytelling through photography, demonstrating how visual content can be used to document conservation efforts, amplify humanitarian causes, and inspire social change.

The technology segment was delivered by Ryan Mule, Product Manager for Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics East Africa. Drawing on over fifteen years of experience in enterprise technology, product marketing, and digital transformation, he showcased the capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem and discussed how artificial intelligence and connected technologies are reshaping industries and everyday life.
On customer service, Josphat Ochiel, Regional Service Manager at Samsung Electronics East Africa, underscored the value of delivering exceptional customer experiences through professionalism, effective communication, and efficient problem-solving. success.
The interactive nature of the masterclass allowed students to actively engage with the speakers through questions and discussions on career planning, entrepreneurship, digital innovation, workplace expectations, and personal branding.
The Samsung Electronics Masterclass concluded on a high note, leaving participants inspired and better equipped with practical industry knowledge and career insights. The initiative reaffirmed JKUAT’s commitment to strengthening collaborations with industry partners to provide students with meaningful learning experiences that complement classroom education and prepare them for the dynamic world of work.
