Course of the Week-Bachelor of Business Information Technology

Bachelor of Business Information Technology (BBIT) prepares candidates to become specialists in the Information Technology needs of the modern business. It is designed to meet the increasing demand in the market place for IT professionals with a wide knowledge of business management, technical skills and the capacity to harness and implement IT strategies taking advantage of emerging technologies.

The degree program is offered by the School of Business (SOB) housed under the College of Human Resource Development  (COHRED) in JKUAT.

The minimum entry requirements are: KCSE Mean grade of C+ with at least a C (plain) in Maths and English

OR

KACE with two (2) Principle passes and at least a credit pass in Mathematics at KCE

OR

A Diploma in Management with a credit pass from an institution recognized by the University, with KCSE with C (plain) mean grade.

Candidates wishing to join the Bachelor of Business Information Technology in 2nd year of study must be holders of CREDIT PASS in Diploma in Business Information Technology from JKUAT.

The degree program runs for eight (8) academic semesters organized in four (4) academic years, which are fast tracked to three (3) calendar years through a trimester process. Students undertake industrial attachment upon completion of the third year.

The program is offered in our Main Campus in Juja, Karen, Nairobi CBD, Westlands, Kitale, Kakamega, Kisii, Nakuru, Eldoret, Mombasa CBD, Kisumu and at the KQ Pride Center. It is also available in our School of Open, Distance and E-learning (SoDEL).

One may also proceed to pursue a Masters in Business Information Technology in JKUAT upon completion of the degree.
