HIV/AIDS Awareness
JKUAT Student on HIV/AIDS Awareness

World AIDS Day is recognized universally and is dedicated for raising awareness and fighting prejudice among other activities. The World AIDS Day theme for 2009 was ‘Universal Access and Human Rights’. The Day is important in reminding people that HIV has not gone away, and that there are many things still to be done.

For this year a set of activities were planned culminating in an annual ‘boda boda’ race. This activity is similar to the one that the university planned with the Juja PCEA church and CHASS a local NGO last year to mark the period and sensitize both the community and student population on the HIV/AIDS scourge. We intend to have A “boda boda” race, women’s football match and tug of war on the 5th of December 2009 including staff, students and the neighboring community at the Premier Bag and cordage grounds Juja.
